To me, the saddest part is that nearly all the icons of Broadway are over 10 years old - many much older. Very little has hit the Great White Way recently that's the least bit exciting - or has much longevity. Kinda like The Big Three automakers, it's not surprising that continuing to produce the same ol' stuff (big casts, $150 tix, based-on-a-true-hollywood-animated-movie-gas-guzzling-SUV) doesn't seem to pay the bills any more.
